Key Responsibilities
This is a senior leadership role. The Chief Internal Auditor (CIA) will be responsible for leading the entire internal audit function at EIDMC. Here’s what the job involves:
- Develop and implement the Internal Audit Charter and Annual Audit Plan based on risk assessment
- Conduct financial, operational, and compliance audits across all departments
- Assess the effectiveness of internal controls, accounting systems, and business processes
- Ensure compliance with the SOEs (Governance and Operations) Act 2023, Companies Act 2017, and all relevant regulations
- Report audit findings to the Audit and Finance Committee and follow up on recommendations
- Detect and report cases of fraud, waste, or misuse of public funds
- Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies
- Promote a culture of integrity, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Build and lead an effective internal audit team
- Carry out special investigations as directed by the Board of Directors
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of audit standards, IFRS, and public financial management
- Expertise in risk-based auditing, forensic auditing, and internal control systems
- Excellent analytical, communication, and report-writing skills
- High level of integrity, independence, and professional judgment
Eligibility Criteria
Education
Membership of a recognized body of professional accountants with one of the following qualifications:
- CA / CPA / ACMA / ACCA / MBA (Finance)
- Must be from a reputed local or international HEC-recognized university or institute
Experience
- Minimum 15 years of relevant experience
- At least 5 years at Senior Management level in audit and risk management
- Experience in designing internal control procedures and financial compliance in public or private sector
- Understanding of governance and risk controls in State-Owned Enterprises or public sector projects
Age
- Maximum age: 55 years as of the closing date
Salary & Contract Terms
- Salary: Market-based competitive package
- Contract: Initially 3 years from the date of appointment
- Probation: 6 months
- Contract is extendable based on satisfactory performance and KPI achievement
- The contract will not be regularized or pensionable
